 Bicycling Williamsburg
The Williamsburg area is a bicyclist's dream. Idealic country and plantation roads, wide shoulders and bike-friendly routes offer wonderful bike-seat views of Virginia's natural beauty.
One of the more popular bicycle routes is the Colonial Parkway, a 45 mile round-trip ride from Jamestown Settlement to Yorktown, with plenty of scenic spots to stop for a box lunch.
The ride to Surry includes a visit to Jamestown, a ferry ride across the James River, and a country ride to Chippokes State Park...round-trip about 35-40 miles.
Not up for an bike adventure of epic proportions? A ride around the College of William and Mary and the Historic Area could be a several hour, casual journey.
