Meet the Bicycling Olivers from Australia

On August 17th, 2005, I was stopping by a local grocery store and noticed two folks who looked like they were adverturing riding.  A verteran of two adverture cycling trips myself, I approach them to find out how far they had gone and where they were ending their trip.  I was in for a very unexpected answer.

They had left San Francisco on May 11th and had traveled over 5,500 miles so far.  Their trip was taking them south to the Outer Banks and into South Carolina and finally to Atlanta, Georgia.

As it was the end of the day, I invited them to stay with us at the Cedars.  They graciously accepted.

The next day after breakfast, I rode with them as they were heading south, via the Jamestown River Ferry, to Suffolk.  We took the Colonial Parkway to the James River Ferry and had a leisurely ride to Chippokes State Park (approximately 50 miles round trip.)

They have set up a blog of their adventure and update it regularly using the Internet at libraries along the way.  To see more about their adventures, visit their blog at http://onyourbike.blogspot.com/

Interested in adverture cycling?  There are several great online resources to visit.  Amazon offers several books on adventure-bike' target="_self">adventure-bike adventure cycyling as well.
